Scientific Data Applications (SDAs)
The representative Scientific Data Applications (SDAs) that concern with the most important types of ionospheric disturbances were described in the DISPEC Second Networking Meeting, which held on Tuesday, 11 February 2025 in Barcelona (Spain), and are presented below.
“SDA1: Digisonde data-driven electron density reconstruction model”, Anna Belehaki (NOA)
The first Scientific Data Application (SDA1) focuses on the revised electron density distribution maps using the DISPEC corrected data.
“SDA2: Modeling Trans-ionospheric Radio Signal Propagation”, Vincent Fabbro (ONERA)
The second Scientific Data Application (SDA2) focuses on the modelling radio signal propagation.
“SDA3: Specification of slab thickness anomalies”, Ivan Galkin (BGD)
The third Scientific Data Application (SDA3) focuses on the ionosphere anomaly mapping.
“SDA4: Proxies for geophysical phenomena and long terms trends”, German Olivares-Pulido (UPC)
The fourth Scientific Data Application (SDA4) focuses on detecting, characterising, and analysing long-term trends in ionospheric datasets, as well as on the usage of such data for proxies of geophysical phenomena.
